England into Wales

An Adventurous Journey by Bike

There are highlights all the way: leaving Bristol on traffic-free paths, crossing the Severn Bridge, Newport’s transporter bridge, quiet Monmouthshire lanes and arriving at Caerphilly’s spectacular castle. Day two climbs out of Pontypridd, through Parc Slip and Margam Country Park, then blasts along the seafront into Swansea.

The route twists and turns – it’s not a flat-out road ride but an adventurous journey. It suits a gravel bike, or a road bike with strong wheels and wider tyres.
