GOWER PENINSULA CHALLENGE
The Gower Peninsula is a stunning area of outstanding natural beauty in Wales and it’s the home to this superb challenge event. The Gower Peninsula Challenge is simple – complete a full lap of the Gower Peninsula. The challenge is set on the coast path of this peninsula and is both varied with breathtaking views at all points.
This adventure event is 40 miles in length and makes for a great two day challenge usually completed over a weekend. If you’re an trail runner, it can be completed in one long day. Much of the Coast Path involves walking over rough terrain, steps, steep slopes and occasional stiles. It’s up to you – run or walk?
The Gower Peninsula Challenge starts at the Mumbles headland and follows the coast path clockwise all the way around to the north coast, to the town of Crofty. The challenge can be completed in either direction to suit the weather or tastes of the challenge participants.
There’s many accommodation options to suit all tastes from camping and YHA’s to luxury hotels and fine dining. As the route is not a circular route, we offer transport back to your vehicle at the end of the challenge.
The Gower is easily accessible with good links from both the rail service and bus routes, plus close proximity to the M4 make this a popular weekend challenge event.
