NATIONAL 3 PEAKS CHALLENGE
The National 3 Peaks Challenge involves climbing the highest mountains in the UK from each of the three countries. Some teams try to do this challenge in under 24 hours. In England you’ll climb Scafell Pike, in Scotland Ben Nevis and in Wales, Snowdon.
It can be accomplished in a day or if you prefer a more relaxed pace, you can complete it over a 3 day period – climbing one mountain per day. Whatever timescale you aim for, enjoying and completing the challenge is the important thing,
The National 3 Peaks Challenge is a classic challenge event that works well travelling from north to south or from south to north. This adventure event can be done with a group of friends, a business team building event or by a charity looking to raise money.
The mountains are Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1344m), Scafell Pike, in England (978m) and Snowdon, in Wales (1085m).

BEN NEVIS – 1344m
Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the UK and the entire British Isles, standing at 1,345 metres (4,409 ft) above sea level. It is also the hardest mountain of the National 3 Peaks Challenge, and is located in the Scottish Highlands, very close to the town of Fort William.
SCAFELL PIKE – 978m
Scafell Pike is the highest mountain in England at 978 metres (3,209 ft) above sea level. It is located in the Lake District National Park and there are many routes to the summit from all directions, giving lots of options. Due to its location, Scafell Pike is always the middle mountain on the National 3 Peaks Challenge, regardless of starting point.
SNOWDON – 1085m
Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) is the highest mountain in Wales, at 1,085 metres (3,560 ft) and the highest point in the British Isles outside of Scotland. Snowdon offers some of the best views in Britain, and has lots of different routes to the summit, including some exciting scrambles. Snowdon is the easiest ascent of the National 3 Peaks Challenge.
