I am in Pembroke at the moment working on a rope rescue course looking at situations that can arise when climbing on sea cliffs. Henry Castle and myself have been working with 8 people arming them with the skills to be able to operate more safely when rock climbing on sea cliffs. All of the participants on the rope rescue course are good climbers and have been climbing at a good level. We have been looking at building different anchors, hauling, escaping the system, climbing and descending ropes, passing knots and more. Tomorrow is there last day and by the end of the course they will have a better understanding of dealing with rescues situations. The course has been backed by the BMC and we look forward to running more rope rescues in the future.
